During the second Twenty20 International between India and South Africa at St George's Park in Gqeberha, team India batter Rinku Singh smashed a huge six that shattered the glass of the media box.
Rinku Singh impresses one and all
The young batter reached his first T20I fifty in just his seventh innings for India. India scored 180 runs, with the left-handed hitter finishing unbeaten on 68 runs off just 39 balls. However, India's total ultimately was insufficient for the visitors.
But Rinku Singh's powerful performance enthralled both the audience and the people seated in the media box at the picturesque South African city's ground. A powerful six from Rinku Singh had the media box's commentators and scribes salivating for a brief moment in the penultimate over of the Indian innings. The media box's window was shattered when the ball, which had arrived at a breakneck speed, clattered into it.
Was unaware that I broke the glass: Rinku Singh
In a video shared by the BCCI, Rinku Singh said that he didn't realize he had broken the glass until a mediaperson informed him. He said, "I had no idea that the shot would travel to the media room and shatter the glass. I discovered what had happened when I returned to the dressing room. I am sorry for that," he said.
