Tilak Varma's India debut against West Indies on Thursday brought him a heartwarming surprise in the form of a video message from his Mumbai Indian teammate, Dewald Brevis. The 20-year-old Brevis, who is highly regarded in South Africa and the cricketing world, shares a strong bond with Varma on and off the field.

After Varma's impressive debut, where he scored a quickfire 39 off just 22 balls, Brevis sent his congratulatory message. In the video, Brevis expressed his excitement for Varma's debut and congratulated him on this special moment for him and his family. He appreciated Varma's powerful shots, particularly the two sixes he hit on the second and third balls of his innings, which gave Brevis goosebumps.

Varma, visibly emotional and touched by the surprise message, expressed his gratitude to Brevis and shared how much he loved the unexpected gesture. He thanked his brother, Dewald Brevis, for the heartwarming message and support.

Despite India's narrow four-run loss in the first match, Varma's debut performance and the support from his Mumbai Indians teammate have left a positive impact.

India and West Indies will next face off in Providence, Guyana on Sunday and Tuesday, with the final two games set for Lauderhill, Florida on August 12 and 13.
