Sri Lankan colts sealed a spot in the ICC Under 19 World Cup quarterfinals as they defeated hosts West Indies by 3 wickets.
Captain Dunith Wellalage took three wickets upfront as Sri Lanka restricted the Windies to 250.
Chasing a modest 251-run target, Sri Lanka lost their opener Chamindu Wickramasinghe early but Sadisha Rajapaksa and Shevon Daniel got the chase back on track. Rajapaksa went on to hit a half-century before the hosts made a late comeback.
With 51 needed off 60 balls for a win, Windies pacer Siva Sankar removed Wellalage (15) to set up a tense finale. However, Ranuda Somarathna's 28-run innings from 27 balls helped Sri Lanka snatch a victory and thus a quarterfinal spot.
