Jonny Bairstow and Virat Kohli were seen exchanging words multiple times when the English batter was on the crease but Bairstow has played down his on-field spat with the former India captain.
After his hundred in the 1st innings of Birmingham Test, Bairstow said that there was no banter with Virat. 'We've been fortunate enough to play against each other for over ten years now so we've had some fierce battles on the field and we're very lucky to be out there playing because that's why we play the game, added Bairstow.
Bairstow even gave a hilarious angle to the conversation and said that Virat might have been angry as he refused to invite him for dinner. But concluded by saying that Kohli and him will surely have dinner together.
The Englishman is enjoying a superb run with the bat and is already the highest run-getter in Test in 2022.
