South Africa cricket team captain Temba Bavuma has said that the upcoming series against India will benefit his team ahead of T20 World Cup in Australia later this year.
Bavuma in a virtual media interaction said, "The conditions in India don't accurately simulate conditions in Australia. In saying that, there's still a lot of benefit from playing. Any type of competitive cricket will be good for us."
The 32-year Proteas skipper feels that even in the absence of star players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah, the Indian side is very competitive. "It's obviously a new-look Indian side. A lot of guys who have done well in the recent IPL have been given opportunities. From us as a team, we wouldn't be looking at it any differently."
The South African team has arrived in India and has started practising ahead of their 5 matches T20I series against India starting from June 9 to 19.
