The opening day of the World Test Championship (WTC) final may have begun on a great note for India but Australia made sure they ended Day 1 in command.
Losing the toss was one of the only two things which probably didn't go right for the Aussies. The other was losing 3 wickets with 76 runs on the board.
It was all Australia from there on. Travis Head tamed Team India with a counter-attacking 146 not out to put his side back on track. He became the third cricketer to hit a ton in the WTC final.
Steve Smith proved to be a willing ally as he too scored an unbeaten 95. A stand of 251 between the two helped Australia end Day 1 at 327/3.
