It was a cakewalk!

The Indian women’s cricket team hardly broke a sweat in their 8-wicket victory over arch-rivals Pakistan in Birmingham 2022.

Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana made light work of the 100-run target as her unbeaten 63 off 42 took India home in just the 12th over. India’s dominant victory has all but ended Pakistan’s campaign at the Commonwealth Games.

With rain delaying start of play, the game was reduced to 18-overs-a-side contest.
And Pakistan were rocked early, with Meghna Singh dismissing Iram Javed for nought. From there, the Women in Green could never recover.

Pakistan were unable to break the shackles thereafter, with Indian spinners choking the run flow. Such was the dominance from the Indian bowlers that Pakistan even failed to get to a three-digit score.

India will next face Barbados on August 3.
