Arsenal's manager Mikel Arteta's contract has been extended until 2025, the club informed on Friday. The Spaniard who was appointed as the manager in December 2019 after the dismissal of Unai Emery, has signed a new three-year-long contract.
Elated with the decision, Arteta said that he has taken the club where he wanted to. 'I want them to compete with the top teams, for that, Arsenal needs to play in the Champions League, he added.
This year, the Gunners who are currently sitting on the 4th spot in the Premier League table, are in contention for the Champions League spot.
Along with Arteta, Arsenal's women's team manager Jonas Eidevall's contract has also been extended until 2024.
