Polish striker Robert Lewandowski has joined Spanish giants Barcelona on a 4-year contract worth €45 million with a possible €5 million in add-ons.
The Catalan Giants also announced that Lewandowski’s release clause is set at a whopping €500 million. The 33-year-old had one year remaining on his contract with Bayern but had already announced in May that his story with the German Champions was over.
Lewandowski also had his first training session with Barcelona on Tuesday moments before his teammates took to the field to warm up.
With 344 goals in 374 games, Lewandowski is Bayern’s second-highest all-time scorer, only behind the great Gerd Muller. The striker is Barca’s fifth signing of the summer after Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie, Raphina and Pablo Torre.
