Bengaluru FC have announced the departure of head coach Simon Grayson and assistant coach Neil McDonald amid a challenging ISL 2023-24 season. Following a decisive 0-4 home defeat against Mumbai FC in their recent match, the club and the coaching staff mutually agreed to part ways.
Former Indian footballer Renedy Singh has been appointed as the interim head coach until a permanent replacement is secured. The decision to make changes in the coaching staff comes as Bengaluru FC face a tough season, currently positioned in the ninth slot on the ISL table with one victory, four losses, and an equal number of draws from nine matches.
Grayson, who assumed the role ahead of the 2022-2023 season, led Bengaluru FC to a runner-up finish in the last season of the ISL and the Super Cup, along with securing victory in the Durand Cup. Despite these previous successes, the team's performance in the current season has prompted the decision for a coaching reshuffle.
