Manchester United advanced to the next round after they came from behind to defeat Aston Villa 4-2 at Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup third round.
After an insipid first half, Ollie Watkins broke the deadlock only for Anthony Martial to level it a minute later in the 49th minute. Red Devils' first goal came with the help of a fiery Bruno Fernandes who galvanised a sloppy Erik Ten Hag's side.
Villa again secured the lead in the 61st minute when a Leon Bailey shot was deflected by Diogo Dalot. However, Rashford responded quickly with another goal 6 minutes later. Fernandes then got among the goal-scorers and along with Scott Mctominay's stoppage-time finish, helped United take successful revenge on the bitter 3-1 defeat they faced on Sunday.
