In a surprising development, Chelsea has sacked manager Thomas Tuchel after their shocking 1-0 loss against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Tuesday.

'Thomas will rightly have a place in Chelsea’s history after winning the Champions League, the Super Cup and Club World Cup in his time here,' read a statement from the English club.

Interestingly, Chelsea under new owner Todd Boehly spent a record £272 million during the 2022 summer transfer window, making it the biggest single market from an individual team in the history of the game. But the decision to part ways with Tuchel came after just 7 games into the new season. The game vs Zagreb was the German coach's 100th match in charge of the Blues.

Chelsea also had a poor start to the Premier League season and managed to win just 3 of its 6 games so far.

According to reports, Graham Potter, who has had a great start to the season with Brighton, is currently the favourite to replace Tuchel at Stamford Bridge. Whereas some believe Mauricio Pochettino might also be heading back to England.
