Several fans suffered injuries after a section of a Chilean stadium roof collapsed, leaving fans injured on Friday.
The structure of the Monumental stadium in Santiago fell during an open training session of a Chilean football club Colo-Colo.
Viral footages of the collapse show hundreds of supporters and fans in the stands and several cheering from atop the advertisement pillars that eventually fell due to overweight, resulting in the collapse of the roof.
While there is no official information on the number of fans injured, as per reports 4 Colo-Colo fans have suffered injuries. The injured fans were immediately taken to the nearest medical centre, the club informed.
Colo-Colo, the Chilean club later said in its statement that they would remove the damaged structure completely to avoid a similar accident in the future.
