Football fans are in for a bonanza as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will resume their longstanding rivalry in a tournament being staged in Saudi Arabia in February.
Inter Miami announced Monday that they will participate in the Riyadh Season Cup as part of their 2024 pre-season.
The Herons will play two matches: they will first take on Al-Hilal on 29 January - Neymar is not expected to participate as he is nursing an injury - and then on February 1 they will face Ronaldo's Al Nassr. Both matches are scheduled to take place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.
Messi has promoted tourism in Saudi Arabia and in May was suspended by former club Paris Saint-Germain for making an unauthorized trip to the country. He also played in this year's Riyadh Season Cup when PSG was the guest team.
