Crocodile kills Costa Rican footballer in chilling video | Viral clip

Jesus Alberto Lopez Ortiz, a 29-year-old footballer from Costa Rica was tragically killed by a crocodile on July 29 while cooling off in Rio Canas river, near the town of Santa Cruz. 

A bone-chilling video of the reptile carrying Ortiz's limp body in its jaws has gone viral across social media platforms. According to several reports, locals shot and killed the crocodile to recover the footballer's body. 

Ortiz used to play for a local club Deportivo Río Cañas and was the father of two children, aged 3 and 8. 

His club had begun a fundraiser for the deceased player's family, accepting donations in cash and kind.
