After world swimming's governing body FINA passed new rules over transgender participation, FIFA is set to review football's transgender eligibility policies.

While talking to the news agency Reuters, a FIFA spokesperson said that the world football's governing body is currently reviewing its gender eligibility regulations in consultation with expert stakeholders.

On Sunday, FINA banned transgender women from competing in women's aquatic events. And laid down a new gender inclusion policy, which permits swimmers who transitioned before puberty to compete in women's events.
