2018 runners-up Croatia made sure they do not go home empty-handed as the Kockasti beat Morocco 2-1 to finish their FIFA World Cup 2022 campaign as the 3rd best team in the world.
The Moroccans, despite the loss, finish an impressive 4th in the tournament, the best-ever finish by an African nation at the World Cup.
The game started with Croatia's Gvardiol opening the scoring in the 7th minute with a brilliant header to become his country's youngest-ever goal scorer in World Cup history at the age of 21.
However, Croatia's lead didn't last for long with the Atlas Lions leveling the score through Achraf Dari in the 9th minute to set the tone for the rest of the game.
The first half didn't end just there as the Kockasti came up with one of the best goals of the tournament courtesy of a Mislav Orsic strike just before half-time which proved to be the match-winner as well.
The second half saw many chances for both teams but none of them made it to the back of the net.
Croatia's 3rd place finish also possibly marks the end of Luka Modric's inspirational international career.
