Bruno Fernandes stood out with a brace as Portugal beat Uruguay 2-0 to become the first team from Group H to qualify for the knock out stage of the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Fernandes broke a 54-minute deadlock and put Portugal ahead as his shot floated beyond Uruguay keeper with Cristiano Ronaldo claiming it had glanced off his head.
That didn't seal the game though as both sides failed to find another goal till injury time before Fernandes converted from the spot to wrap up the game in the 93rd minute.
While Fernando Santos' men made it to the last 16 on back 2 wins from 2 games, Uruguay are on the brink of elimination and are languishing at the bottom of group H with just 1 point from 2 outings.
