Star striker Neymar limped off the field with a sprain in his right ankle in the 80th minute of Brazil’s 2-0 win over Serbia at the Qatar World Cup 2022.

After colliding with an opponent during Brazil’s opening Group G game, the 30-year-old carried on for 11 more minutes and was then withdrawn from the turf. Informing about his injury Team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar said that the extent of the injury will only be known after 48 hours.

Neymar was seen in discomfort on the Selecao bench. A few viral images also show his swollen ankle.

Richarlison who scored the stunning brace in Brazil’s victory, in the press conference later said, ‘The most important thing for us it to have him at 100% for the next match.’
