Nottingham Forest have secured the signing of Anthony Elanga from Manchester United on a long-term five-year contract. The 21-year-old departs from Old Trafford for a reported fee of £15 million.
Elanga's journey with Manchester United began at the age of 12, and he broke into the first team in 2021, accumulating 55 appearances before attracting interest from Nottingham Forest.
Expressing his excitement about the new chapter in his career, Elanga stated, "It's a pleasure to be here. It's a proud moment, not only for me but for my family as well." The young forward's potential and capabilities have earned him this opportunity, and he is eager to contribute to Nottingham Forest's success.
Despite being a part of Manchester United's pre-season tour in the USA, Elanga returned to complete the move to Forest, finalizing the deal as the club's second signing of the summer, following the acquisition of defender Ola Aina.
The signing of Anthony Elanga is a significant boost for Steve Cooper's side, given the interest from German clubs and Everton, who were close to securing his services on loan during the January transfer window. However, Nottingham Forest successfully secured his signature, adding a promising talent to their ranks.
