Raphael Varane has announced that he will leave Manchester United at the end of the current season. The 31-year-old center-back joined the Old Trafford club in 2021 after a highly successful decade at Real Madrid, where he collected numerous medals and accolades.

Since his move to Manchester United, Varane has been plagued by injuries, limiting him to 93 appearances over three seasons. As his contract expires this summer, Varane has decided to bid farewell to the club and its supporters.

"To you guys, supporters of Manchester United, it's been an amazing few years to play for this special club and wear that shirt," the former France international expressed on social media.

Reflecting on his time at the club, Varane shared, "The first time I went to Old Trafford as a Man United player was insane, the atmosphere was amazing. I fell in love with the club, with the fans. You have to play for Man United to understand what that represents."

Varane also spoke about the personal connection he and his family have formed with Manchester. "For my kids, it's home here. It's going to be a special place for me, for life," he said. He reminisced about memorable moments, particularly those shared with fans, stating, "When the fans go to Wembley, it's something they will remember for life. To share that moment with them was absolutely amazing."

Despite the challenges faced during the season, Varane remains optimistic about the club's future. "Despite the fact we had a difficult season, I'm very positive for the future. The new owners are coming with a clear plan and a great strategy," he noted.

Varane's departure marks the end of a significant chapter for both him and Manchester United. He plans to make his final appearance at Old Trafford in the last home game of the season, a moment he anticipates will be deeply emotional. "I'll see you at Old Trafford to say goodbye for the last game at home this season and it's going to be a very emotional day for me, for sure," Varane concluded.
