Germany on Friday named former Bayern Munich head coach, Julian Nagelsmann, as the new head coach of its men's national football team ahead of Euro 2024.
At 36 years old, Nagelsmann is the youngest man to coach Germany since 34-year-old Otto Nerz was appointed back in 1926.
Nagelsmann takes over the role following the departure of previous coach Hansi Flick, after Germany's below-par show at the World Cup and the recent international friendlies.
The German Football Federation said that Nagelsmann will take over on a short-term contract through next year’s European Championship.
