Days after the brawl between India and Pakistan players in the ongoing SAFF Championship, members of the host team got into a melee with players of Nepal.
Minutes after Sunil Chhetri’s 61st minute strike, India’s Rahul Bheke and Nepal’s Bimal Magar collided while attempting a header.
Magar landed on the ground awkwardly, he got up, charging at Bheke and a crowd immediately gathered around the two players.
Before the scuffle could get out of hand, the referee dispersed members of both the teams.
It took less than 5 minutes for the eventual winners to score their second goal against Nepal.
With the 2-0 win, India are through to the semifinals of the Championship. They will play Kuwait on June 27 to decide the group winner as both teams have 6 points from two wins.
In the June 21 clash against rivals Pakistan, players of both the teams got into a heated tussle during the first half of their game.
India manager Igor Stimac got into a tussle with one of the Pakistani players which started the fight and resulted in the head coach being handed a red card and asked to serve a one-match ban.
