India failed to make it to the final of the King's Cup after a 5-4 defeat on penalties against a much higher-ranked Iraq side on August 7.
Mahesh Singh broke the deadlock for India in the 16th minute only for Iraq to level the score 12 minutes later after the referee awarded a penalty to the side.
Despite taking the lead for the second time in the match with a silly error by the Iraqi goalkeeper in the second half, it was another questionable decision by the referee which resulted in a second spot kick for Iraq which was converted successfully by Ghadbhan later on in the game.
It all came down to penalties where India turned out to be the less fortunate side with Brandon Fernandes missing India's first penalty in the shootout, which eventually ended 5-4 in the favour of the Lions of Mesopotamia.
Iraq will face the winner of match between Thailand and Lebanon in the final.
