The La Liga match between Barcelona and Cadiz was temporarily halted on Saturday after a spectator suffered a heart attack during the final minutes of the game
He was evacuated on a stretcher and admitted to a local hospital. Cádiz said in a statement that the man was successfully treated with a defibrillator by a medical team. Barcelona’s players also lent the medics their defibrillator in case it was needed, the statement added.
With Barcelona 2-0 up, the referee ordered the players to retire to the locker rooms. But after a half-hour stoppage, the game finally resumed as the Catalan Giants netted 2 more goals in the final 8 minutes and won the game 4-0.
