Barcelona finally got their act together, scoring a late goal to halt their losing streak, and went into the international break on a high note.
Barcelona fought back to win 1-0 at relegation-threatened Alaves in the Spanish league on Sunday, snapping a three-match winless streak that includes elimination from the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.
With the win, Barca moved one point behind fourth-placed Atletico Madrid in La Liga points table and 15 points behind league leaders Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid drew 2-2 at home against Elche thanks to a stoppage-time goal from Éder Milito.
After a difficult day for Karim Benzema, who missed a penalty kick and then had to be substituted due to injury, Madrid holds a four-point lead over Sevilla at the top of the table.
