For the first time in eight years, Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo are not at the top of the list of highest-paid footballers in the world.
According to Forbes magazine, PSG forward Kylian Mbappe is the world's highest-paid football player for the 2022-23 season before taking agents' fee into account.
With an estimated earning of $128 million, Mbappe is the highest-paid footballer in the world. He is followed by Messi, who has earnings of $120 million while Manchester United's Ronaldo occupies the third spot with $100 million.

Meanwhile, Manchester City's Erling Haaland, who made a blistering start in Premier League, broke into the top-10 list for the first time with earnings of $39 million.
