Manchester United's Chistian Eriksen inspired Denmark to a 2-0 victory against World champions France in the UEFA Nations League on Sunday.

The 30-year-old created ample number of chances to harm the French defence and was unlucky not to get an assist in the whole game. Denmark was up by two goals before half time and managed to keep France at bay throughout the game.

Both the teams will be facing each other in their respective FIFA World Cup group games as well which would have been an added motivation for the Danish international players going into the game.

Denmark however, failed to secure top spot in the standings after Croatia's 3-1 victory over Austria. France on the other hand have qualified for the Nations League finals despite their average performances and avoid relegation to League B as they won the 2021 edition of the tournament.
