European champions Italy will find solace in Europe again after missing out on World Cup qualification for the second time as they qualified for the Nations League final four after beating Hungary 2-0.
The Azurri were determined to do well in this tournament after suffering a major disappointment when they failed to qualify for the FIFA World Cup this year.
“We have to start again, we have to do it for all of Italy.” said Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Goals from Raspadori and Dimarco secured the victory for the men in blue.
In the other match, England and Germany fought to a 3-3 draw at Wembley as both the teams ended their dismal run in the tournament with 3 and 7 points respectively.
Goals from Luke Shaw, Mason Mount and Harry Kane put England into the lead after coming back from 2 goals down. Later, Kai Havertz dented England's hope for a maiden win by slotting the rebound past Nick Pope in the 87th minute.
The three lions ended their Nations League campaign without registering a single win and got relegated to League B.
Both the teams will be taking part in the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup unlike Italy and will be hoping to regain some form as soon as possible.
