It was a tough night for Manchester United on the road but they managed to rescue a point against Newcastle United on Monday night in the Premier League. After conceding an opening goal early in the first half through Allan Saint-Maximin, United found themselves playing catch up right through the opening half.
The home side was pushing for an outright win as United struggled to give a strong response against the opening goal. Ronaldo and company had many chances but the water tight defence from Newcastle seemed to be working perfectly.
Edinson Cavani who replaced Mason Greenwood at the half time break then rose to the occasion and salvaged the night for Ralf Rangnick's men. His 71st min strike helped the visitors draw level and ensure that they sent back home after splitting points with a 1-1 draw.
Courtesy the draw, United remain 7th on the table with 28 points whereas Newcastle stay lodged at 19th in the relegation zone.
