Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on Friday said that failing to qualify for next season’s Champions League will not have a dramatic impact on his squad, as they had already “drawn a line under” this season.
Both Newcastle United and Manchester United gained the points they needed to secure their own qualification during the week, meaning Liverpool will have to settle for a place in the Europa League.
It was ultimately confirmed that "The Reds" will not be playing in next year’s Champions League on Thursday evening after Manchester United beat Chelsea 4-1.
Earlier, Liverpool forward Mohd Salah also took to his social media to express his disappointment and apologised to the fans for a below-par season from the Merseyside club.
It will be the first time Klopp's men will not play in Europe’s premier club competition since 2017/18.
