Liverpool vs Chelsea
Liverpool routed Chelsea 4-1 on Wednesday to restore a 5-point lead for Jürgen Klopp's team atop the Premier League table before going to third-placed Arsenal this weekend.
Diogo Jota again covered for the absence of Mohamed Salah and opened the scoring early.
Klopp seems to have unearthed another gem in his final season at Liverpool as 20-year-old right back Conor Bradley then scored one and set up two more goals.
Luis Diaz added a fourth as Liverpool secured their 200th Premier League win of Klopp's tenure.
Manchester City vs Burnley
Erling Haaland made his highly anticipated return for Manchester City after nearly two months out injured, coming on as a substitute in a 3-1 win over Burnley after fellow striker Julian Alvarez scored twice on his 24th birthday.
Haaland was given a big ovation at Etihad Stadium on Wednesday after coming on in the 71st minute for Kevin De Bruyne, whose first start since his own injury layoff included a clever assist for Alvarez's — and City's — second goal.
Rodri added the third for City while Haaland was unable to add to his 14 goals this campaign — tied for the most in the league — in his short time on the field, which included a wild miskick that sent the ball backward instead of toward goal.
Tottenham vs Brentford
Tottenham scored 3 goals in 8 second-half minutes to beat Brentford 3-2 and rise to fourth, trailing Liverpool by eight points.
After a poor first half which saw the Spurs trailing 1-0, Destiny Udogie leveled in the 48th, one minute before Brennan Johnson scored the go-ahead goal. Richarlison scored what proved the decisive goal in the 56th.
