The Premier League has been urged to re-examine assurances given by Newcastle's Saudi owners that the Middle East state would not have control of the club.
The issue pertains to a brief in the US court that described Newcastle chairman & Public Investment Fund (PIF) Governor Yasir Al Rumayyan as "a sitting minister of the Saudi government".
The revelation made in the court raised fresh questions about the English club's ownership since the Premier League only approved the PIF-led takeover of Newcastle after receiving "legally-binding assurances" that the Saudi state would not have control of the club.
The Premier League's chief executive Richard Masters, meanwhile, refused to comment on the matter.
