India beat Kuwait 5-4 on penalties to win their record-extending 9th SAFF Championship title in Bengaluru on July 4.
It was Lalianzuala Chhangte, who levelled the score for the Blue Tigers after Kuwait took the lead early on in the 15th minute.
In what was an end-to-end encounter, both sides finished regulation time level on one goal each.
After another eventful but goalless spell of extra-time, it was all down to penalties again.
It was none other than Gurpreet Singh Sandhu who once again proved to be hero as he handed India their 9th SAFF title, with the Blue Tigers winning 5-4 on penalties in front of the home crowd.
