SAFF Football: Kuwait hold India to 1-1 draw, Blue Tigers finish 2nd in Group A

Indian football team continued their unbeaten run in the SAFF Championship after a 1-1 draw with Kuwait in Bengaluru on June 27th.

Indian skipper Sunil Chhetri broke the deadlock in the first half with a superb half-volley via a Anirudh Thapa corner to take his tally to 92 goals for India.

Kuwait equalised in the second half through an Anwar Ali own goal late in the game.

The second half saw India get a couple of good chances but was overshadowed by some altercations which resulted in both teams getting a red card each.

Coach Igor Stimac was also sent off earlier on his return, having served a 1-match ban.

The draw means that Igor Stimac's side ended the group stage in 2nd position with 7 points on the table.
