Brazilian football legend Pele was finally laid to rest after a funeral procession through the streets of Santos.
Fans and former players had earlier gathered inside the Vila Belmiro Stadium to pay their respects to the legendary footballer.
Even Brazil's president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was in attendance for Pele’s wake on Tuesday, taking part in a Catholic mass.
After the funeral service, Pele's coffin draped in the national flag was ushered through the streets of Santos. Wherever the procession went, it was met with applause. While some were visibly upset, a few broke into cheers.
The Brazilian superstar was finally laid to rest in a private ceremony at Santos's Memorial Cemetery.
