The match between Eredivisie clubs Ajax and Groningen was called off due to alleged crowd unrest.
The game had to be postponed after frustrated Groningen fans started to throw flares on the field with the score at 0-0.
According to reports, there was significant disruption caused as fans were frustrated with the club's relegation after 25 years in the Dutch top flight.
A supporter also ran across the pitch with a message for the board after the clubs relegation to the Eerste Divisie.
