Paris Saint Germain (PSG) and France footballer Kylian Mbappe arrived in Douala on July 8 to find the village of his ancestors.
This was the 24-year-old's first visit to the country since he was a teenager. French-born Mbappe's father Wilfried is originally from Cameroon.
Despite the rain, a huge group of excited fans was waiting to welcome him at the Bonassama landing stage, from where the Frenchman went to Djebala, an island in Cameroon which is his father's village.
On his trip to his motherland, he visited schools under construction which are being funded by his foundation 'Inspired by KM' in Douala and on the island.
He also carried out some humanitarian work on behalf of his foundation which helps young people achieve their dreams. Mbappe also met the country's Prime Minister Joseph Ngute on Friday, along with other officials.
