After Afghanistan beat Pakistan for the first time ever, Ibrahim Zadran dropped a massive statement in his post-match interview where he dedicated his Player of the Match award to the Afghan refugees who are forcibly being sent back home by Pakistan.
Zadran said, "Thankful that I performed well in this event. I wanted to play with a positive intent. Many times Gurbaz and I have done a brilliant partnership together. We have played a lot of cricket together, right from the Under-16 days.
"I am feeling very glad for myself and for my country. I want to dedicate this man of the match award to those who are sent back to Afghanistan from Pakistan," he added.
Due to the rising tension between the two countries after a number of attacks along the two countries' border, Pakistan had ordered all unauthorised Afghan refugees to leave the country by November. An estimated 17 lakh people were asked to go back to Afghanistan earlier this month.
Afghanistan beat Pakistan by 8 wickets in ODI World Cup.
