Bangladesh are set to make a host of changes to their coaching staff after the World Cup in India, with the Bangladesh Cricket Board set to remove several names from its roster.
According to Cricbuzz, the imminent coaching restructuring may not bode well for current pace bowling coach Allan Donald and spin bowling coach Rangana Herath, alongside fielding coach Shane McDermott, as the BCB has shown little inclination to extend their contracts.
Bangladesh's performance in the ongoing ICC World Cup has been disheartening, marked by a series of five consecutive defeats. Skipper Shakib al Hasan openly referred to it as one of the team's weakest showings in recent global tournaments.
While a number of coaches are expected to depart, head coach Chandika Hathurusingha and assistant coach Nick Pothas appear secure for now due to their recent appointments.
The outcomes of the ongoing World Cup will likely play a pivotal role in determining the future of the coaching staff. While Hathurusingha and Pothas do enjoy some stability due to their recent appointments, they too will have to prove their ability to steer the national team towards improved performances.
