India may have won 6 out of 6 games in the World Cup so far but they're still not assured of a semifinals berth. While they are leading the pack and are favourites to qualify for the knockouts first among all the teams, the mid-table muddle has meant no team has yet booked their place in the last four. In fact, England, despite being bottom of the table, are still in with a chance of making it to the semis.

India will confirm their place in the semis with just 1 more win out of their 3 remaining matches. Although 12 points can suffice with some assistance, 14 is the safest threshold. Apart from India, no other team outside the top four can reach 14 points. Even if India loses all three matches, they can still qualify provided Afghanistan don't surpass them in net run rate, potentially finishing on 12 points.

The leading quartet, including India, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia, currently have the destiny of their semifinal hopes in their hands.
