When it's South Africa at the other end, Netherlands hitbeast mode!
There was another upset in ODI World Cup 2023 as South Africa suffered their maiden defeat in the tournament after losing by 38 runs to Netherlands in Dharamsala on October 17.
Having beaten them in last year's T20 World Cup as well, Netherlands seem to play in another gear against the Proteas.
Put to bat first, Netherlands looked shaky in the beginning and were struggling at 50/4 at one stage.
However, a late burst of runs courtesy of Scott Edwards (78*), Roelof van der Merwe (29) and Aryan Dutt (23*), fired their side to 245/8 in the end.
In reply, things went south quickly for the Proteas as quick wickets saw South Africa stutter to 44/4 inside 12 overs.
And from there, they could never recover as David Miller's 43 went in vain, with Logan van Beek emerging as the top wicket-taker with 3 for the Dutch, giving the underdogs a 38-run victory.
