In a major boost to Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan returned to training on Tuesday, following his injury against New Zealand in his side's last ODI World Cup 2023 match.
Shakib, who suffered a slight quad tear, batted for about 45 minutes after playing some football. Bangladesh are set to face India in a crucial match on October 20.
The all-rounder injured his quad while batting vs the Kiwis but managed to score 40. Shakib even completed his quota of 10 overs before he was taken to hospital for scans.
But an official of Bangladesh team management told Cricbuzz that he had no pain at the moment. 'We all were concerned whether his pain would increase or not after batting or running between the wicket, but what can be better news for us than that?,' he added.
