Having won the toss and opted to bat, Indian openers started off well with both Shubman Gill & KL Rahul looking in decent touch.
However, it all changed quickly when India lost both batters in the space of 4 runs.
To make matters worse, India's star batter Virat Kohli perished in the very next over for just 1.
But Pujara, along with Rishabh Pant rebuilt the innings. While Pujara was happy to bide his time, Pant played his strokes. The southpaw scored 46 off 45 balls before he got a bottom edge that crashed into his stumps.

At 112/4, the game was in the balance but Shreyas Iyer & Pujara put together a 149-run stand which saw India snatch the initiative away from Bangladesh.
While Iyer got a lucky break before stumps where the ball hit the stumps but the bails never came off, Pujara wasn't so lucky as he departed 10 short of a deserving ton.
Bangladesh ended the day on a high by getting rid of Axar Patel on the very last ball of the day, with India going into stumps at 278/6.
