Team India got the better of Pakistan as the Men in Blue won by an impressive 228-run margin, their biggest victory against their arch-rivals in what turned out to be a two-day affair in the Asia Cup Super Four.
Having won the toss on Sunday, Babar's decision to bowl first didn't go his way as openers Rohit Sharma (56) and Shubman Gill (58) gave their side a brilliant start.
After the play resumed on Monday, Virat Kohli (122*) and KL Rahul (111*) continued the proceedings in an extraordinary fashion as both batters went on to score unbeaten blazing hundreds which took India to a competitive 356/2 in the end.
In reply, Jasprit Bumrah showcased his brilliance on his return and when Hardik got Babar with a beauty, Pakistan were on the backfoot. Kuldeep Yadav then bamboozled the Pakistani middle and lower-order with a fantastic spell.
The left-arm spinner ended with sensational figures of 5/25 to dismantle Pakistan’s batting order, where opener Fakhar Zaman ended up being the top scorer with just 27 runs.
India's 228-run victory will go down a near-perfect performance against the Men in Green.
