Gujarat Titans became the first team to enter the IPL 2022 playoffs as they crushed Lucknow Super Giants by 62 runs at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium on Tuesday. Hardik Pandya’s team returned to winning ways as they ended LSG’s 4-match winning streak with a thumping win.

Defending 145, Gujarat bowlers tore apart the Lucknow Super Giants’ starry line-up. Gujarat bowlers attacked Lucknow from the word go. KL Rahul's team got a harsh thrashing as only 2 of his batsmen could reach the double-digit mark. While Hooda was their highest scorer with 27 in 26 balls, Quinton de Kock collected 11 runs. Rashid Khan starred as he picked up 4 wickets and restricted Lucknow to a mere 82 with 37 balls to spare.

Earlier, deciding to bat first, Gujarat struggled during their innings from the start. Tight bowling from Lucknow and loss of regular wickets hurt them badly. However, a sensible batting approach from their opener Shubhman Gill who scored an unbeaten 63 (43) helped them cross the respectable 140-run mark.
