It was the night of records at the Eden Gardens as Rajasthan Royals beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 9 wickets.
Put in to bat first, KKR openers Jason Roy and Rahmanullah Gurbaz failed to make a mark again as the duo were dismissed for a collective total of just 28 runs inside 5 overs.
It was Venkatesh Iyer who top-scored for the home side with a 42-ball 57 as the Knight Riders managed to post a below par 149/8, with Yuzvendra Chahal taking 4/25 which saw him become the IPL's leading all-time wicket-taker.
In reply, Yashasvi Jaiswal made his intention clear from the very first over and smashed 26-runs against KKR skipper Nitish Rana, the second most expensive opening over in IPL history.
Even as Buttler sacrificed his wicket for the in-form youngster, Jaiswal repaid the faith by recording the fastest-ever fifty in IPL, smashing one in just 13 deliveries.
His unbeaten 47-ball 98 along with a 29-ball 48 from skipper Sanju Samson rattled the home side as the duo chased down 150 in 13.1 overs to give their net run rate a massive boost.
