It never looked like Gujarat Titans' game but the 2022 IPL champions did the unthinkable and beat Rajasthan Royals by 3 wickets on Wednesday to end their 2-match losing run.
Shubman Gill's decision to bowl first seemed to be the right call as GT rocked the hosts with 2 wickets upfront.
Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag then steadied the ship before both cut lose and helped the Royals finish at 196/3.
While Parag smashed 76, RR skipper remained unbeaten on 68.
Gujarat did get off to a decent start but lose wickets at regular intervals and were reduced to 133/5. Gill however continued to fight but his innings was cut short on 72.
It seemed like GT would end up losing the game but Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan had other plans. The duo chased down 35 runs in the last 2 overs to win a last-ball thriller.
While Tewatia smashed an 11-ball-22, Rashid hit the winning runs and remained unbeaten on 24 off 11 deliveries.
As a result, the Jaipur fortress was finally breached this season as GT ended Rajasthan's 4-match winning run.
