After a slow start in IPL 2022, Chennai Super Kings suffered a big blow as their star Indian pacer Deepak Chahar has been ruled of this year's cash-rich league. Deepak was in rehabilitation at NCA after suffering a hamstring injury during West Indies T20Is. But he injured his back during the rehabilitation.
Chahar has been a key player for CSK in the past two seasons and his absence would certainly hurt Chennai's prospects in the ongoing season. In the last two seasons, Deepak took 14 and 12 wickets for CSK.
CSK bought Chahar back during IPL 2022 Mega Auction for Rs 14 crore.
Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders would miss the services of Rasikh Salam given the pacer was ruled out due to an injury. Kolkata have named Harshit Rana as Rasikh's replacement.
In another development, IPL informed in a press release that Delhi Capitals' physio Patrick Farhart has been tested positive for Covid-19. He is being closely monitored by the DC Medical Team at the moment.
