The 2022 season of the Indian Premier League is nearing its climax and Team India will be back on the job starting 9th June when the South Africa tour commences. Senior players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah might be rested, keeping in mind their slump in form in IPL, the fatigue, and the upcoming England tour. The likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Dinesh Karthik, Kuldeep Yadav, and Hardik Pandya could make a comeback.

If Rohit Sharma is rested, Dhawan who led India to a win against Sri Lanka in 2021 might be given a chance to captain again. Hardik Pandya who has also impressed with his skills may also be picked to lead the national side. The all-rounder hasn't played in the Blue jersey since the end of World T20 due to his back injury. However, Pandya who is back to bowling has emerged as a big positive this IPL season.

Apart from them, Dinesh Karthik's finishing performances for RCB have caught attention. In the run to the upcoming T20 World Cup, the 36-year-old who is RCB's 3rd highest run-scorer with 287 runs at a strike rate of 191 might also be given a fair chance against the Temba Bavuma-led-side. Kuldeep Yadav's return in form is also good news for India.

Just like every year, a lot of promising names came to the fore in 2022 too. Mohsin Khan and Umran Khan who have impressed with the ball might be given a break in the upcoming home series. Besides them, Deepak Hooda has also emerged as a strong contender for a place in the 5-match T20 series which is set to begin in June after the completion of IPL 2022.
